Roost Bars (Part 2)

Forgot to include this question with previous thread...….Is it best to have roost bars all at the same height to avoid competition for higher roosts? If one is higher, how close should it be to the lower one to make it easy for them to get to? I don't have any chickens yet. Expecting my first flock this spring and I'm building the coop now. Love this website for great information!

How wide is your cage?
How many hens will you get?

From my experience they will all squash up on the highest one. It's surprising how many hens can fit on 1 perch.

You can do it either way. You do want bars to be at least 14-16" apart so birds on one bar can't pick on birds on another.
