Roost material

What do you use for your chickens to roost on?

I've heard of 2x4s, dowel rods, pvc pipe, metal pipe.... what do you use?

2x4's My girls like to settle down over their feet.

I wouldn't go with metal pipe for the fear of frostbite in cold areas. Pvc pipe can get slippery. Dowl rods would probably work with bantams

2x4's. I use the 4" side so they can lay on their feet.

I bought the wooden rake/shovel handle replacements you can get at Home Depot or TSC. They are about 45 inchs long, and come in a few different widths and wood type.

I use 2x4s or 2x3s with the top corners rounded off a bit.

2 x 4s. Some are cut down to about 2 1/2 inches and some left as is (the edges rounded with a router). Oh...and I have one large branch (about 3 inch diameter).
