i have a polish rooster (his name is louis) who’s tail is dissapearing rapidly because of 2 of my hens. he’s not molting, because it’s just his tail. the rest of his feathers are big and full. he has lost most his sickle feathers.

i’ve picked him up and looked at it, its tender and i can tell it hurt him because he only squirmed and yelled whenever i was messing with it.

the hens are yanking the feathers from his tail. what should i do?

(the hen on the right is one of the ones bullying him)

i tried getting a picture of what it looks like close up but he is too squirmy and i cant even lift up the saddle feathers that cover the area without him wriggling out of my lap. if its super necessary to get a picture, though, im sure i can work something out.

How much space do they have? I'd either put Pin Less Peepers on the 'pecking' hens or separate him from the flock until his tail has regrown. They may start on his crest next.

alright, thanks! and they have been pecking his crest since we got him, but it doenst seem to hurt nor bother him. its where his tail is that hurts
