My dads rooster died yesterday. it had been acting like something was caught in it throat and kind of gagging a little bit. Dad wasn't too concerned since the rooster still was chasing the hens around and otherwise seemed fine by crowing and doing what roosters do. It never seemed stressed or anything, but when dad went out to check on his flock yesterday the rooster was dead. Any ideas. It was a maran.
