Rooster acts like it is choking

A few weeks ago, I bought some Ameraucanas.  The rooster kept making the gurgling sound. I thought it was normal. He seemed to be ok.

A week later I put all my young roosters in a coop next to the Ameraucanas.  Now, a week after that is when my young roosters started making

the same gurgling sounds but they were actually acting like they were grasping for air.   So from what I read, the mature chickens will survive the

gape worms much longer than young chickens.    Two roosters died this evening.===suffocated.....4 more are sick. Coughing, runny noses, breathing heavy.

I have seperated all the sick chickens from what should still be  in good health. Tomorrow , I will go hunt down some meds.

Luckily, I did not have all my eggs in one basket..........  All my hens are in another coop far away from the coughers....  I read the coughing can spit out the eggs

and thats how others can become infected.    While my young roosters were introduced to the older rooster in the coop next to them,  they would do their man thing

at the fence but never hurt one another///so to speak..  I guess he won after all.
