Rooster adoption

A flock of human habituated wild turkeys (evidently some crossing with domestics indicated by coloring on some) has made themselves at home in this shore town. Chasing people, pecking at/perching on cars, just being a nuisance in general. I'd be Thanksgiving shopping.

Sounds like they are trying to cross the road....but why?
