How has he been otherwise? If he's well behaved in general and this type of behavior is out of character I wouldn't be so quick to ditch him. It's true there are a lot of good roosters, but often times you have to sift through the bad to find one. Assuming he is good in all other areas I'd try putting the broody in a crate with food and water (within the coop or run). Then see what happens after the hatch.
