Rooster Attack!

One of the reasons my rooster is in the freezer is the liability issue. Yeah, we could deal with him, but we have people drop by who aren't prepared for a rooster. Since our birds free range our yard whenever we're home he was a risk.

He'd never gone over the fence to the neighbors yard though his hens have, but he was capable and they frequently have a yard full of small grandchildren.

I'd hate to get sued because of an darn rooster.

I'm sorry to sound hard, but the days of cock fighting are over. If not, any one doing it deserves to go to jail .Roosters that aggresive need to be taken out of the gene pool. I grew up with family that raised and fought chickens. An fighting bred game will pick a fight with an elephant. I have seen a game rooster fight a hawk and win . In times past they bred for that type of aggresion . today it will get your but sued
Besides I don't believe in pawning problem off on some one else.
If that happenned here ,as soon as the wife was care for I'd BBQ his butt

From the little I've learned about Game birds, they come by their combative nature honestly and are surivalists/hell on predators for it, God Bless 'em. But I keep clucks for eggs, so mean roos are persona non grata at my place!

I've never engaged in cock fighting, nor do I condone it so I'm not sure what you mean. As for "pawning off" the problem, I returned the rooster to the man I originally got him from. He was glad to get him back!

Here he is. This was when I first got him.

Here is one of the wounds:

I hope your wife heals soon

I have cousins that bred and fought game chickens up untill the late 70's, they bred for that kind of aggresivness so the rooster wound not give up and fight to the death Alot of aggresivness is genetic , lets face it , people like games now days because they are colorful, but games were bred to fight . by not taking roosters out of the gene pool if he gets with hens he will pass the aggressive trait on for some one else to deal with.
Besides any animal intentionally doing the much injury to my wife will be culled!!! chicken, dog , cat etc.
