Rooster Attack!

Our new man-about-the-coop, Spike McRoo, is a peckerhead, too.

He likes to come at me randomly, showing me his 'tail feathers,' so to speak. However, I just stick my foot up. If he happens to run into it, tough noogies! I never turn my back on him and for the most part, we have an 'understanding.' It's just that sometimes he forgets... He is a handsome boy, but if he gets too much more aggressive, he'll go in the pot as well. I miss my Wee Man (my avatar). He was a nice roo.

i too have a rooster that needs to be in a pot of dumplings lol
he will let you walk all around him and when you start to walk off he will flog the daylights out of you. my wife is the one he gets the most as she forgets to watch him while she feeds . one day she carried a broom handle with her and when he tried she hit him in the head . she called me at work thinking she killed him. but alas that was not the case he twitched for a bit then he got up and i guess he decided he wanted no more of that for awhile. today i took off work and was giving the wife a break and he got me twice . he is a black minorca and if he wasnt so pretty he would be gone

Nasty roo. That pic was bad, pretty boy, but when my roo gets mad, I lead him toward one hand to attack it then pick him up and play with him. He hates me more, but he can't hurt me.
I had a plymouth rock that bit me so hard I bled. I'm not sure why I was giving him water....

Stories like this make me think about buying shin and thigh guards, just in case my roo goes bonkers on a me or anyone feeding the chickens.

Shame that such a pretty bird is so aggressive.
