I’m late to the thread. Wow, great job caring for him (especially with no power/water!).update: i took him out i don’t want him to panic and hurt himself, any sleeping positions he could possibly sleep in? i mean i don’t know how to position him, he panics and flips if he’s on his side, and i don’t think he likes using his legs because he starts shaking, maybe i’ll try slanted?![]()
welcome & thank you!I’m late to the thread. Wow, great job caring for him (especially with no power/water!).
Maybe try to wrap him in a towel like a burrito (with his head out, but towel tucked under & around his body) and put him in a dark room/closet. Maybe he will just hunker down and sleep and be stronger tomorrow. I would be nervous to let him stay in a sling unattended too. GL!
So glad you have power now!welcome & thank you!, luckily our power came back today so i’m able to use the heaters, i think today is the last snow day and everything will start melting and hopefully we can fix our pipes after, i definitely miss the water, i have not gotten any rest these past days, i wake up every hour to see if he hast rolled or if he’s alive, he was way more active today so he’ll hope have a nice sleep

i had my 2 spoiled adults inside during the storm up until the incident, i love them but they both don’t like the chickies and try to do anything in order to peck them, i took an hour making their house extra comfy and a nice temperature , luckily they liked it more since there is leaves in there! my 3 chicks are currently inside in a dog crate too, they don’t like it as much as their little coop outside but it’s better than freezing outside, i put garbanzo in his box after he took a big poo poo on my favorite sweater, then he fell asleepSo glad you have power now!
Hopefully the pipes can get fixed soon
We have 11” of snow, which hasn’t happened here in over a decade, it seems. I’m ready for the rain this weekend to melt it all!
I totally understand waking up all night to check on pets. I moved my new laying pullet into the shed at 2am because I couldn’t sleep thinking about her alone in the chicken tractor coop in the 0°F temps. (I just got her less than 2 weeks ago, so she’s still in quarantine.) Now she’s in the shed in a dog crate ready for warm temps & snow melt this weekend.
Hopefully your boy lies still and gets rest (& you do too!).
