@esme13 You're making the right decision. The reality is that, like animals, poultry needs to be managed in a way that results in the best outcome for all involved and sometimes that means bad behavior = freezer camp or dirt nap. I just had to put a laying hen down because she wouldn't stop harassing the new pullets. I really didn't want to because that particular hen was my late girlfriend's hen (she would have been my fiance, I was waiting for her to complete her divorce, and THAT was waiting on their child to turn 18) - but it needed to be done.
Basically, what it came down to was either I lose that one hen or lose x number (up to possibly ALL) of the pullets. The latter being unacceptable, of course.
