Rooster Attacking Me

I agree with both of these statements. Must have a Bobby and if you have to choose it needs to be Dean.

I am a Jensen, Uh, Dean fan.
But, honestly, he IS a better roo and is gentle even eating bread out of my hand. :) Dean only attacks me after Sam does.

First spank yourself, in part for fighting with your roosters and then for being a Dean fan.

Show a picture of your roosters showing what weaponry they posses. Then put on some thick cloths, get a book and a chair and go sit right in the core of their territory. Let them flog away but do nothing in response except to keep them out of your face. Do not even look at them directly. Move slowly and deliberately as needed. If attack breaks off then move towards them but do not do so in an aggressive manner. When departing, do not move if attacks resume. This will be repeated but will impress upon birds the futility of attacking and demonstrate you no longer intend to threaten them.

Why do people promote keeping aggressive roosters? If he's 1/2 what you say whack him move on enjoy the stew. End of discussion.

I am not promoting the keeping of aggressive rooster, rather I am promoting better husbandry technique that prevents development of man-fighting in the first place and can be used to reverse the problem with less investment than simply re-birding. Owing to extensive past and current experience with "roosters" and knowledge of how many people behave around their birds, it is easy to see improvements can be made. Otherwise a series of roosters will be acquired and found aggressive that might not be found aggressive by another party that keeps their birds in a different manner. My position is not as sexy as saying "I am tough so kill the bird and get another" but it does get you into a situation where roosters are not a problem and you learn something about them in the process.

I had the same problem with my Henry...he was the sweetest and then bam one day he turned on me and attacked me any chance he got! Didn't have the heart to cull so I called a local farm and they took him to live with them! Ahhhh so happy I can hang with my girls outside now!

Love this... I perked up at the Sam and Dean. ia m totally addicted to the show and my only and becoming eveil rooster came with a name. However, the girls all need names. will have torefresh my memory and see who suits. :)
