I had EE roo that was an ol meany head. He was my first roo, and I thought "oh, hes just a rooster" so I carried the stick with me everywhere. The kids were banned from the coop, he would try to get people through the fence. IT was hideous. Then I got into Orpingtons, and realized that nice roosters DO exist. My Orpington Roo I have now acts the same as the hens towards people. It may not be the best survival trait for a roo to have, but I love freindly chickens, and I don't need any chickens fighting to survive. My chicken philosophy is now that any mean roo gets eaten. No questions. I have had to many nice roos hatch out
