Hi! One of my broodies hatched 10 eggs and 2 ended up being roosters. They are about 3.5 months now and one of them (the gray) is crowing very loud all day long. Unfortunately we live in a subdivision so I'm afraid I will have to get rid of him. My question is, he seems to be the dominant. He's larger, crows, signals to the hens of predators and lets them eat first etc. Once he's gone will the other pick up those behaviors or is it fair to assume he will continue to be more docile? Here's a picture of the two, I think they will end up being pretty handsome guys and would love to keep one for the ladies but my neighborhood relationships come first :)

They're handsome little guys! Yes, the other will pick up on those behaviors and take over when the other is gone. The crowing one is dominant right now and keeping the other in line. Sorry!

It is very likely that the less dominant rooster will 'step up' once the alpha is removed. Only time will tell for sure.
