My rooster attack just about everyone he see's not including me, he also attacks cats and soccerballs. I was told that when I hatched out chicks to always keep the rooster sperate because he would kill the chicks, but when I introduced him to his children he did the complete opposite, he started to teach them to dig and catch insects. A more extreme example of this is when I rescued 8 baby ducklings trapped in a storm drain, since the ducklings did not have a mother I introduced them to the hens, the hens did not accept the ducklings at all they completely rejected them. But when I intoduced the ducklings to the rooster they immediately clicked, he taught them to eat and to hunt. He helped the duckling grow up before I released the ducklings to a local canal where I check on them every month. I just want to know if this behavior is normal because I have heard many horrific things about roosters killing other animals.
