Rooster behavior?

My rooster attack just about everyone he see's not including me, he also attacks cats and soccerballs. I was told that when I hatched out chicks to always keep the rooster sperate because he would kill the chicks, but when I introduced him to his children he did the complete opposite, he started to teach them to dig and catch insects. A more extreme example of this is when I rescued 8 baby ducklings trapped in a storm drain, since the ducklings did not have a mother I introduced them to the hens, the hens did not accept the ducklings at all they completely rejected them. But when I intoduced the ducklings to the rooster they immediately clicked, he taught them to eat and to hunt. He helped the duckling grow up before I released the ducklings to a local canal where I check on them every month. I just want to know if this behavior is normal because I have heard many horrific things about roosters killing other animals.

My roosters don't bother the chicks. They interact with the hens and may stroll among the chicks, but don't bother them at all.

As long as you are responsible and have a means to contain/control him when guests are around then you should be fine :) my roosters are great with people of all ages and sizes, but I don't let my little one out of my sight when the big tom turkeys are out ;)

“That chickens got it in for me, Mum!”
So, my rooster, Sheldon, has been renamed apparently. He’s now, ‘Kung Pu Chicken’
He’s taken a dislike to one of my grown up sons......what do I do???
Matthew lives in the next village but works in our business. He comes over to feed them occasionally so Kung Pu has had treats from him.
All of my birds were hatched in the kitchen.
Any advice please??

Well while there are guests or visitors over he is supervised or put in the coop. He always makes sure to behave when I'm around but when I turn my back he starts to act up again.
Yes!! Just what mine does too!
My son said that my rooster ran from one side of the garden to him, jumped in the air and started kicking him. I didn’t see it and when I went out with Matthew he was just standing quietly with his two girls.
Hah......Matthew said he’ll video it next time! :barnie

Honestly every time he’s tried to fight me I just fought him right back (don’t hurt him or anything though) just like shove him with your legs a few times until he sees you as stronger than him. If you don’t want to be so violent or mean to the rooster I’ve heard spraying him with water every time he fights also works, but it didn’t work for me.
