I posted this yesterday without a relpy. Maybe I'm not doing it right? So anyway here it goes again. I have a hen in her own pen. Our rooster is banging on the fence trying to get her. She will be let back out with the other hens soon but I was wondering if he will hurt her. He is acting very mad. He was raised with her so he should know her. Will it all work out or should I be worried??? Thank you.

coopdeville - Your roo just wants his girl back with him. I think that he will be fine with her, it may be the other hens that may have a problem with her once she is reunited with the flock. When you put her back with the flock do it at night so it is dark and they are sleeping and won't think she is an intruder in the flock. It still may be some pecking but they will work it out.

You didn't say was wrong with your hen?

My muscovy male had mated with her and would not leave her alone so she is by herself until he gets a new home. Thankfully he is molting and hasnt picked another one of my hens. We tried to separate him but he can fly over the fence. Just not when molting. Thank you for asking.

Oh so sorry about the duck. I have a friend that just got some more muscovies and he is mating everything she has. Poor girls. I wonder if the eggs would develop and have a duck/hen hatch.

I think she will be fine though without the duck. lol... let your rooster in there with her for a little bit and he will calm down I am sure.
