This is my story. I had a silkie roo with mostly silkies and hatched a bantam brahma roo and hen and decided to keep them. So I rehomed the silkie roo because he was constantly chasing the brahma roo and now after 1 day of being gone me brahma roo is being rather aggressive with the ladies. One was just laying there not moving so I had to hold her for a bit and she must of been stunned because as soon as she realized I was holding her she started squirming to get down. She seems okay but he gets on them and it's not a quicky he just keeps going and going and the poor hens are not liking it. So should I just rehome him? Anyone have an experiences to share. He's getting put in a seperate pen for the night. Thanks!

Very frequently the true temperament of a subordinate rooster appears once the dominant rooster has been removed. He may calm down as he matures, but until then it sounds as if there is the danger of injury to your hens. If it were me, I would get rid of him.

I'd put him in the soup pot, personally.
I think it's good for cockerels to grow up around adult roosters. The roosters won't let them mate however much and however aggressively they want. Sometimes cockerels need a good butt kickin' IMO.
Like sourland said, he may calm down as he matures. They are teenagers, driven fully by hormones and zero experience. He doesn't yet understand that if he gets "permission" from the hens, his mating will be much more effective, he just does what he wants! If he doesn't change with maturity, however, that's not the types of genes you want to pass on to future generations.
He could be a danger to your hens at the moment, but it may subside after a few months, so it is ultimately your decision.
Good luck :)

Thanks! I've never had this experience before. I've rehomed silkie roos because of having too many and never had this happen. He's looking for a new home and I might have one today. He's a very nice guy never attacks, laid back and follows me around. He was penned away from the girls over night and today he hasn't even tried to breed. Dancing a little but that's it. I had an older hen chasing him around last evening. So maybe that's the time I will be watching him. But he will be leaving, won't take the chance. Some of my silkies are 8 yrs old. Funny thing is he doesn't show any interest in his hatchmate lady. When it comes to chickens I guess the learning never stops. Not breeding anymore, just want a calm flock. Maybe it will just be hens. :)
