Rooster Bleeding Toe & is shaking

My rooster has a cut toe, I believe his toenail came off yesterday. It was bleeding & he kept biting it so I put some blu-kote on it. Today I was checking his foot to put more Blu-kote on it and his legs are shaking now when I pick him up. Can anyone explain why or what's going on with him? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Have you ever torn a nail off past the quick? Painful, wasn't it? Your rooster is in pain, and that's why his legs are shaking. Soaking the feet in Epsom salts will encourage fast healing and will soothe the discomfort. A chewable aspirin twice a day for the next two days will also relieve the pain. He will be fine. Chickens lose their toenails all the time. I haven't ever heard of one dying from it.
