I have a RIR rooster that breathes with his beak open and sounds raspy. I thought it might be gape worms and treated him with Safe Guard goat wormer about a month ago. I injected it down his throat 2 times three days apart. After the second dose he started was having trouble swallowing. While eating he has to stop and breathe frequently and is sleepy alot. He is not overweight and is about 5-6 years old. Until recently he was the dominant rooster in our flock and now he is the lowest ranking one. Any ideas what could be wrong or what I should do?
