Rooster Bumblefoot emergency

Hi coco leg does seem to be looking better no longer swollen , however he still isn’t able to walk properly.

I had coco in the coop for the past days since he’s unable to walk but I thought he could get some sun today which is rare here . He was sat on the floor and I noticed one of my hens was standing ontop of him and looking at him as if she’s pecking him , I moved him back to the coop.
Does anyone know why she’s being like this with coco? She’s never done that before , she’s last in pecking order.

Domination tactic since he's not well.

He would benefit by being outside in the sun and where he can see the others. Can you make a temporary fenced in area for him so the hens don't bother him?

What do you mean Domination tactic???
Slightly confused , very upset to see it

Coco has been outside in sun today for quite a while with the girls I kept a close eye , then had him separate but still outside when I wasn’t around. He doesn’t seem to be getting better :( makes me so so upset he been with me from the start 9 years strong.

Chickens have a pecking order. Every chicken wants to "not" be the lowest, that hen is, so standing on top of him, she's showing dominance - she's just trying to advance her rank.
That's all - it's domination.

I'm very sorry that he's not improving. 9 years is a good long life for a rooster and for him to live this long, you have taken good care of him! It's heartbreaking to lose a favorite and I know you are doing all you can for him.

It doesn’t seem long left now for coco :( He’s not eating , his eyes are shut , not active at all. He’s become hard in his laying position , if I lift him up he seems like he’s already a dead cold body but breathing. He’s having water but slowly started to stop having that . I tried giving him food he doesn’t want it.

wanted to ask if a fox attacked a chicken does the chicken die straight away or can it take a few weeks or months for it to die. Or can it be just fine

:(

Coco has unfortunately passed away 😭😭😭 he was my sweet boy with a fun personality. He stayed with me for 9 years and now is in chicken heaven. I’m scared to bury him as we get many many foxes at night in the garden , don’t want them to bury him up . Vets around me don’t even check chickens out , defo won’t take him for burial . Any ideas???

I'm sorry about Coco:(
You did everything you could for him.

I would bury the body deep. Cover the top with something like pavers, rock, etc.
You are right, Fox or some other critter may attempt to dig, so check that area each morning for a while and fill in where needed. I've had it happen unfortunately.
