Yes being able to handle a rooster is very important. Fester hates it so we wait till an hour past roosting for the night, then go and grab him. I don't speak chicken fluently but I am very sure he has a potty mouth. My L F Cochin Stumpy doesn't like it either until you pet his waddles and head, then he acts like a big sheepdog and flops

Pretty much just chiming in to subscribe... i love my roosters! I have a bantam frizzle cochin roo, a lavender orpington roo and a suspected roo of an unknown breed :)
 
probably a keeper.We always say were gonna get rid of them,but their just to friendly and we end up keeping them.
 
But,Zeus has never dealt with young cockerels,so this should be interesting as the get older.
 
Yeah,my last roosters son grew up and tried to fight dad,but he ended up getting his neck broke,and spurred both of his sons eyes out.His dads bame was Joe.
