my rooster was eating and in the middle of eating, tried to crow and i think some food went into his throat. he started flapping around, i thought he was being silly, then he fell over and was turning blue! i was like "hes choking!" i tried to do hemlich manuver on his belly like you do with humans but it didnt really work. then my husband gave him mouth to mouth, putting air in his mouth and also sucking some out and i think that dislodged whatever it was and he finally started breathing again! he kinda just sat there for a few minutes i think he was in shock. i had to pick him up and take him to the water and put his head in the water so he would drink. but after a while he was trying to crow and walking around like normal. that was so scary! i hope that never happens to any of mine again! has anyone else ever had that happen? how often does it happen?
