Rooster cockle?

Well, it doesnt sound like that to me. Why they do it is probably territorial. In spanish, it's an entirely different sound so it's just an interpretation. My blue Orp sounds like a wolf howling sometimes. And they answer each other, like answering a challenge or announce how big and bad they are.

I think it is a communication/territorial thing. My rooster will crow if he hears the rooster a country block away and he will crow if the winds are right and he hears the rooster a 1/2 mile away.

Roosters crow to tell everybody in the world that they are the best thing thing since sliced bread. And they remind us feeble-minded humans all day long that they are the best thing out there.
