Rooster collars? Do they work?

i think they work. they will make the crow quieter. you have to make sure they are adjusted properly though. and i think even a properly adjusted collar carries a risk to the rooster if they were to get something caught in their throat.

you can make them pretty easily with a piece of elasticated fabric,hook+loop fabric and fabric glue. much cheaper than buying them especially if you have many roosters.

I used a homemade Velcro collar, and it worked VERY well! I used on my EE roo, and they’re known for being so tame and gentle (and he was), so I don’t know about other breeds. He died, but it wasn’t from the collar. I always checked it, and I could always get a pinky under it. It must be tight, though…tighter than you think if comfortable to work. Btw, we also have close neighbors and live in a neighborhood. They couldn’t hear him even yards away.
