Rooster Comb

Our rooster is free range - he lost his only hen this winter and is getting old. We are getting him a new, mature hen for Easter.
During the past two months his comb has changed. There are almost spur like ends to his comb. Is this frostbite? It seemed to develop over a period of time. He acts perfectly healthy otherwise!

my roosters combes have frostbitr and ore floped to thr side and the tips are black.

(with correct spelling) my rosters comb has frostbite, it is black at the top and is floped to one side, but it does not have spurs
