Name: Spaz (Spazzy, or Spazzoid)
Age: Approx. 6 months
Breed: Silver Laced Polish

Background: We got two silver laced polish for hopes of a pair, whaddya know? we got a pair! Except these unfortunate chickens did have a hard time in the start, because the ducks and the geese when they were young, would continuously pick on the other birds, chewing on their feathers, these polish got the worst of it with their feathery heads. This one particularly ended up losing feathers, which then got the other chickens picking on him too, so the poor guy got scarred.. All of this happened in just one day, we separated the water birds from the chickens and turkeys at night, they do fine together during the day and the water birds have grown out of their feather chewing. With a scarred bald head, his new headfeathers grew in white! Opposite to his female, named Orchid, they now appear like a yin yang. When they were injured from getting picked on, we kept them in large plastic bins in the house to heal by themselves, becoming closer to each other, and us, now the girl is sweet and friendly, and this guy.... well.. he doesn't attack anyone, but he's starting to get some attitude, hopefully he grows out of that phase. He is kind of a wuss though, but funny! That's why we call him Spaz.

Hi, I'm quite new so I don't really know much about contests on BYC but I wanna give it a go! Correct me if I get anything wrong.

The first cockerel I want to enter:View attachment 1137701
Name: Venatici
Age: 11 months
Breed: Ayam Cemani
He's a real charmer and bossy, I bought him three ladies and he was finding tidbits to woo them with, classy. I don't have much background on him as he's quite new but my others do...

The second:
View attachment 1137703
View attachment 1137734 View attachment 1137735
Name: Versace
Age: 1 year
Breed: Turkish Aseel
I ended up with this guy as 6 month old from my step father (I since had him bred and have his sons and daughters.) He had quite a rough life to begin with but I brought him to my flock...he soon made it clear who is in charge. He can be really friendly, coming up for hugs (he's 2ft and a bit). But he can be protective over parts of the garden (the birds are free range), I think he's really pretty and his markings especially for a Turkish Aseel. (Sorry for picture quality)

And my third...

Name: Tina
Age: 5 months
Breed: Easter Egger?

Tina is young cockerel with cross beak or 'scissor beak', he was due to be culled so I bought the cage of birds he was in, he turned out to be the ugliest one with a face only a mother could love. But that's me, I love Tina because he's mischievous, cheeky and bold. At first I thought I'd lose Tina because as a kind of side affect of the beak, he has monthly fits. Tina follows me everywhere and tries it with the ladies but he is really not their type haha. Tina will fly through the house windows and follow me through the door, his favourite is bath time as he always gets covered in the randomest stuff, beans, porridge, rice. He always jumps on my shoulders and has a look in my hair or he'll come and sit on my lap when I'm having a cup of jo, also Tina's favourite drink. Tina is quite behind though and is only the size of a two month old chick at best, I love him to pieces and so do all the other chickens. Tina isn't much compared to my other cockerels or any of the ones above but his personality makes up for his ugly mug.
Tina is adorable! :love

Since you don't seem sure on his breed, I think he's a faverolle mix. :)

I have way to many roosters so I will post a few.

Name: Leonidas
Age: roughly 5-6 months
Breed: English Orpington
Such a gentle soul. Good with the ladies and my family. I wouldnt trade him for all the riches in the world.View attachment 1137199 View attachment 1137197 View attachment 1137198

Name: Rocky

Breed: Cross
Sire: Rocky's father is a cross of bantam silver laced Cochin.
His grandfather is a bantam silver laced Cochin.
His grandmother was a mille fluer d'uccle.

X

Dam: Rocky's mother is a cross of bantam English Orpington and bantam mottled Cochin (she was show quality).
Rocky's grandmother was a bantam mottled hen
Rocky's grandfather is bantam English Orpington

Breed: Silkie
He is boss over flock

Name: Scotty (Named after Scotty from Star Trek)
Age: 6 months
Breed: Red Bantam Cochin
(Got these a little time ago)
View attachment 1137441 View attachment 1137442 View attachment 1137443 View attachment 1137444
Background: we got him from TSC, he was about..... 2 (?) days old. He later lived through some rotten food that killed half our flock. His favorite hen is Tiny.

Name: Kangeroo
Age: 6 months
Breed: Bantam light Brahma
(Got these a little time ago)

View attachment 1137625 View attachment 1137626 View attachment 1137627 View attachment 1137624Name: Napoleon (his name might change)
Age: Around 6 months
Breed: Old English game bantam
Napoleon is from someone who couldn't keep him due to crowing. He is very spunky and actually pecked my hand at first, so I held him down with my hand and he stopped. Napoleon currently lives with Chesta (my bullied hen).

View attachment 1137632 View attachment 1137633 View attachment 1137634Name: Domino
Age: Around 6 months
Breed: Dominique
Domino was from someone who didn't want him because he bullied their ducks. He is the new leader of my rooster flock. Domino is very bold, but I'm trying to teach him not to be aggressive.

View attachment 1137643 View attachment 1137644 View attachment 1137647 Name: Lupin
Age: 15 weeks
Breed: Standard barred Cochin
Lupin is docile, timid, and sweet. I got him from someone who didn't want him (crowing) when he was only 5 weeks old. He was lonely, so I got him a companion, a little OEGB named Chipmunk. Chipmunk recently died to predators, and Lupin has been acting depressed. It also doesn't help that my chickens have mites right now.

View attachment 1137660 View attachment 1137664 View attachment 1137667 Name: Griffin
Age: About 1 year
Breed: Faverolle mix
Griffin is the former leader of my rooster flock, then Domino came and defeated him. I got Griffin from someone who just didn't want their two chickens anymore. He used to be aggressive toward me, but I trained him not to be. He hasn't attacked me since.

(The top picture is the most recent. He looks that way because he's molting, he has mites, and he just got defeated by Domino.)

View attachment 1137671 View attachment 1137672 View attachment 1137673 Name: Frosty
Age: About 7 months
Breed: OEGB (old English game bantam) mix
Frosty is friendly, spunky, bold, but not at all aggressive. I got him from someone with a ton of bantam roosters, and I have no idea what breed he is. Frosty is one of my favorite roosters, though he can be a bully to my new roosters.

Name: Snowball
Age: Approx. 6 months
Breed: Splash Rosecomb Bantam

Background: Originally we didn't plan to get a chicken like this for the flock, but when we were buying chicks, I saw a picture of a bird that looked strikingly similar to an old bird we had (lost a long time ago) which was a mix, but it has turned out to be a splash rooster with a rosecomb, that rooster's name was Snowball. When I saw the picture of this breed, I had to get just one, just one, and we did, he was Snowball #2! Didn't know he would become a rooster like the other bird too, but he did, and as their description doesn't lie, he was always a very flighty bird, we used to have the chicks in large plastic bins in the house to keep warm, he would always be the first and only one to fly out, so I'd greet him, and we hung out a lot, he would sit in my lap or on my shoulder while I was on the computer. He ended up having the best personality of any bird I've ever known, my best friend. Now, as an adult, if I am wearing something he knows he could jump on, or have my arm or hand in the right angle/position, he will jump up on me and hang out, most of the time making his way up to my shoulder, sometimes even my back or head, I'm like his own personal little taxi! Imagine all the showers I must have to take with those feet in my hair! He's usually pretty clean though thankfully, and has never yet pooped on me, so I have that to be thankful for. He also trusts me, with most chickens, if I were to pick them up, they flap their wings in a slight panic because they're afraid of being dropped or falling, Snowball doesn't do that, he's chill and goes with it like he knows I won't drop him, he's even sat on just my fingers like a parrot would. He was also the first of any of our roosters to crow, even though he was one of the youngest! Such a tough little guy! Spunk, attitude, personality, and a winning smile- (okay, maybe not). He's never had any aggression towards me, and he's pretty nice to the girls, and even to the other roosters, so he doesn't get picked on usually, especially when he's up on a perch 70% of the time, crowing about 15 times in a row, (not always but that's not an exaggeration, I counted!) He also holds some sort of grudge against plastic waterers, especially the ones with the red bottom half, he will attack it until it's upright again, it's so funny to watch!

View attachment 1137677 View attachment 1137687Name: Finny
Age: About 1 year
Breed: Finny's mother was a Japanese bantam crossed with an OEGB/bantam leghorn. His father was a beautiful white Japanese bantam.
Finny is timid, skittish, and sweet. He is very quick. I raised him from an egg along with his siblings/half siblings Rosey and Huckleberry.

View attachment 1137696 View attachment 1137697 View attachment 1137698 View attachment 1137699 View attachment 1137700Name: Huckleberry (I sometimes call him "Huckle")
Age: About 1 year
Breed: Same as Finny
Huckleberry is one of my favorite chickens. He is very friendly, brave, and gentle. He is not at all aggressive. I raised Huckleberry from an egg along with Rosey and Finny.
