Far as if there safe or not I run Australian shepards in the pastures registered from High Hopes Aussie kennels there wonderful herding dogs and very good protectors of my flocks. (unless they run out of hearding room and the birds can't move forward anymore had this happen once my dog kept trying to herd them threw a wall in the actual chicken barn. He couldn't seem to figure out why they stopped moving forward ended up suffocating them. He was so sad that day took days for him to come out of it. Poor dog and chics
