This is my 9.5 week old frizzle Cockerel (or at least I think it’s a “he” because he is crowing, trying to mount another chicken, and to me, looks like a male). He is a very nice bird otherwise but he has started trying to mate with one specific chicken and is being very rough about it and attacking and grabbing her by the neck to climb on top and not letting go. My question is, do roosters develop their rooster dance over time or should I just assume that if he is not trying to do it already, then he probably isn’t going to do it???

That is definitely a cockerel. Usually when they are younger they haven't learned how to be courteous yet so they just get up and go :gig He should start dancing when he gets a little older.

They may never do the 'dance'.
I know sometimes they just never do the dance. That’s why I was wondering if they usually start doing it later when they are older, or if I should assume that if he is not doing it already then he probably won’t ever do it at all.

Aww pretty chickens
My roo likes dancing for the hens and if they don't lie down to let him mount them, he just hops on and grabs their neck so they can't pull away😳😂
