Sorry this is a little lengthy!!
I tripped over my beloved Duke, a black and tan coonhound, in April 09. I hurt my right foot and right knee, I just thought it would take time to heal. A month later I ended up in my doctor's office, she ordered a MRI of my right knee. I got the MRI, radiologist who read it stated I had a complete posterior cruciate ligament tear, a menicus tear, and a cyst. My PCP referred me to a ortho surgeon. I took my films in with me, the ortho dr. said I didn't have a torn ligament, only small menicus tear that didn't warrant surgery. At this time though, I could barely walk. So I asked what the problem was, why was is so painful to walk? Osteoarthritis, he said I have had it for a long time, the fall just made it show up. I got a steroid shot, LOVED it!! I hate needles, but it brought on so much relief. The ortho dr. then told me that my OA was mild to moderate and I would benefit from Hyalgan, which he told me is made out of rooster combs! I offered him my Sheldon, brown star roo! Can you imagine, he said he didn't want him, not enough comb!! My ortho doctor is old fashion, common sense kind of guy. I love him, he is on-time (unlike any other doctor I have seen!) The receptionist said I would be "dancing" in no time! My left knee (which is in better shape than my right) feels like it did 10 yrs ago! I get two more injections, then I should be okay for at least 6 months.... I wonder if I will start crowing soon?

(LMHO) Sheldon just started crowing on Wednesday! He has a sorry crow, but I am sure he will have a beautiful crow as soon as he grows up. He is only 2 1/2 months old!
