Rooster Favorite?

My alpha rooster seems to have a "favorite" hen. However this hen is super old, arthritic, and has poor feathers. Is it common for roosters to have a favorite lady? if so is it normally the oldest hen in the flock? If it matters at all he is a 3yr old EE and she is a Barred Rock that is like 110 in human years.

Yep, some roos have favorites.. tends to be those who have issues..

My rooster has a favorite girl, she was the first hen to lay an egg.
