Rooster feathers

we came home last night to a big pile of chicken feathers from our rooster. No body, just a lot of feathers. Your thoughts on what could have done this?

sorry for the circumstances. Sounds like a 'snatch and grab' predator - fox, coyote, bobcat. Be prepared - it will most likely come back.
