Rooster fight! HELP!!

I have game chickens which are prone when improperly cared to do something sort of like you describe. Treatment also involves prevention. Pictures needed for assessment of damage to enable treatment. If you do not wish to provide information needed to quality advice, then take bird to veterinarian. May still be prudent even with advice.

If you think he'll recover, bath him carefully, get a warmer light, not to hot, so he stays warm while healing, keep him in the house with you. Also feed him yogurt with a syringe, scrambled eggs, mashed really really well, milk with syringe... you are going to have a very busy few days and then some. Poor guy. I am still amazed about it being silkies... wow

Where the other 2 silkies hens? Even younger birds? My little OEGB rooster once risked his life by fightin an owl (juvenile barn owl) when the owl was after his hens and their babies. Roosters will most likely give their lives if it meant protecting their hens. If bill damage due to fighting, he will be able to feed again.

An electrolyte solution might also work. If he is kept hydrated, then he should be able to go a couple days without food.

I got 3 silkie roos... I'd hate to think that they could do that much damage... I mean, they are only 2 pounds! So much fuzz over their faces I sometimes have to put the bread I am feeding them right in front of their nostrils and they will still not see it! Such funny little guys. I just can't imagine them fighting like that, with each other!

Here is one of his back,I cannot get the whole area that is damaged right now bc my phone is dying and has to charge for a few minutes or it will only take half pictures...I will post more shortly. Thank you everyone for helping!

first NO WAY ARE THOSE WOUNDS are from roosters fighting...i also raised game, no way can a rooster do that kind of damage, even rooster that have fought to the death, which a silkie would never do.....sound like a bird if prey.

Maggots take a few days to hatch....you must treat the wounds every day.....Sound like be better to put the little guy down
