Myth. Hens will lay without a rooster, but the eggs will not be fertilized (they can not hatch). Either way, you will get eating eggs.

When children are involved, I'd say it is best to get rid of aggressive rooster asap. They can jump into a child's face.

Our last one did that my husband is 6.1 and he jumped so high he almost got him in the face

yup best way to train out aggressiveness is to send them away to freezer camp where they learn to be good table chickens. There are not many stories where a chicken comes back from freezer camp aggressive.

Just a personal experience, as a younger rhan 4/5 y/o they brought me to grandparents farm and rooster went after ne in the yard. But i never had a dislike or fear of chickens or roosters. Now have both and love the boys. They do frustrate me when they terrify some hens; i understand its their hormones and try to problemsolve to resolve. Study up on why hes behaving that way and solutions online. They are there. Best of luck.
