Hi all,
I recently noticed that my 5-month old Belgian D'uccle rooster had some red, inflamed-looking skin on one of his feet. It is hard to see because of his feathered feet, but I've attached some pictures here. The skin looks a little raw where some (new?) feathers are coming out, and is also red a little higher up on his foot. I don't see the same amount of red on the other foot, although there is a little bit of red where the feathers connect to the skin on the other foot as well.
He is behaving totally normally, although sometimes he holds one of his feet up (but it is not always the same foot I think, and I don't know if it is normal rooster behavior to hold up a foot from time to time). Does anyone know if this is something serious, and if so, how I could treat it? Could it be scald caused by ammonia from droppings? Thanks so much!
Best,
Anne
