Rooster hanging out in nesting box?

I’ve noticed that he only chooses the one nesting box to do this in, which interestingly is the nesting box where I get the most eggs. I have 8 nesting boxes with 13 hens and they only use about 3 of them...but the one I’ve been seeing him in definitely gets used most! How cool =)
Wonders if adding fake eggs to some or most the nests would throw him for a loop?

My very first cockbird (that came with adult starter flock) did this the first day, never did it again. Have had other cock/erels kind of accompany the girls when laying, especially newly laying pullets, but not much.

My Naked Neck cockerel, Angus, has exhibited this behavior.
He’s become better at it over the few months that he’s been doing it.
At first he would choose extremely unsuitable locations...such as the blade cover of the riding lawn mower :gig
I don’t think Emily and Red are impressed.

LOL my roo from 2015 picks the floorboard of the tractor, a bunch of hens will come over and look at him like he's nuts... one will jump down from the seat, look around at what he is pointing out and tell him it's not suitable:lau

Yep!
It’s like...”you’re a guy, what do you know about it. I’m telling you this spot won’t work!”
