Rooster=Hen feather removal :(

The first replier done my legwork and found the links. I honestly didn't think of doing a search for it myself as I'm typically not lazy like that lol. My wife and mother-in-law have been doing alot of sewing lately and I work in a furniture factory and I can get pieces of fabric pretty much any day of the week while I'm work. I think tomorrow I may ask my wife to help me make a couple and try them out. As for the saddles how to you get it to stay attached? Tie, button, velcro?

I found a pattern for them at backtobasicliving.com/howtomakeachickensaddle. The pattern worked great but now I have another problem. My roo HATES the saddles and valiantly attacks them, pulls them off and "kills" them! Any suggestions besides separating him from the flock? I already have one roo in a separate corner, but I hate to put the other in there because I think they'd fight, especially with the frustration of seeing the girls but not being with them. It would be hard to make another pen with the setup I have, plus it's a very cold climate and my roo has a large comb that I'm afraid would freeze if he was alone.

dont know, but guessing your roo has spurs(sharp) i would suggest taking a pair of wire cutters and cutting off the sharp points and cutting off the ends of his toenails. dont worry if it bleeds a little. other option is a little alone time for rooster
