So we picked this guy? Up a couple days ago and I am not sure what breed and sex.
any assistance would be helpful. We were looking for a rooster for our girls. He seems to have been picked on from other roosters where he came from, looking at his tail. He was kept with a bunch of roosters.
they said heritage multi colored rooster. So he is at this time very docile. I am sure from his previous surroundings.

Barn yard cross with at least a barred dame if the sire was not also barred. If they told you what the options are, we could probably help narrow it down a bit more.

They're always docile when getting familiar with new surroundings before they start testing their boundaries and settling in to try and rule the place. ;)

He is a cockerel.. meaning under one year old as far as I can see from spur growth. They earn their rooster badges at one year old.

He may still be clumsy when he starts trying to mate your girls as it takes practice to get it right.

Huge legs on that guy. He should fill out nicely and make a handsome fella when fully mature. :love

I keep a rooster pen, and their antics can get a bit like horse play sometimes making them look a little worse for wear.. but he does NOT look beat up at all. :)
