Okay my frizzled red cochin bantam rooster is limping..he wont let me catch him(hes a bit wild...). But by looks,it seems part of his toe is cut off...? I hate to see him in pain...
What can I do for this...?!?! I have no idea..nothing like this has happened before.
Any advice will help. I hate to take him to the vet or anything(as mean as it seems)...they charge me an arm and a leg everytime I go in there...and frankly I never took a chicken to the vet! Can I even do that!? Ugghh...its driving me insane!!

I would wash it with water and mild soap and then put bacitracin ointment on it then wrap with gauze and tape and keep him separate in a crate until it heals. Put him on vitamins in his water or possibly antibiotics so infection doesn't set in. Change it when it gets wet or every few days. Use septic powder to stop bleeding if needed. Good Luck!

First thing you need to do is catch him and inspect the area to see what is actually wrong- missing toenail? Missing toe? Bumblefoot? If he is hard to catch- get a good net and corner him. Or wait until night time and pick him up off of his perch.
