Rooster losing feathers?

I walked in the barn today and there were a bunch of feathers where the rooster was. The hadn't been there earlier this morning. What happened?

Fight? My hens like to fight with my rooster. check him out and make sure theres not scratch or blodd , could be a predator.

He is not currently in the same pen with the hens, and he has no scratches/cuts. Did he pick them out himself? Also, I can't see his skin, there are still lots of feathers, and I don't think it was a predator. Is it normal for them to pick there own feathers?

he could be molting if you dont find any!
