rooster lost his voice... why?

i posted in behaviors to ask if i should be concerned about my roosters voice being really hoarse when he crows. this started today, and its to the point he barely makes a noise. him and one of my other roosters are CONSTANTLY crowing back and forth allll day long. so i thought maybe he literally lost his voice. i was told i should be worried though... so now im not sure what to be worried about or what to do.. please any advice would be appreciated! thanks
