Rooster making weird breathing sounds

Google stridor, and see if that may be the problem. It happens when something gets in the airway (food, mucus, or a foreign object) and creates a high pitched wheezing noise on breathing in and out. Many times this will last a couple of hours and clear on it's own, but if it persists, I would look inside the that with a flashlight for anything unusual. Any other symptoms, such as gasping, watery or bubbly eyes, nasal drainage, or cough/sneeze could be common with a respiratory disease, such as MG or others.

I'd leave your bird in the coop for now. He should be okay as long as the rest of your birds are okay. My chickens thrive even in -40 degree F/C weather.
