Rooster Mating?

Yeah, our dude doesn't even chase them, even first thing in the morning he just starts pecking and scratching with them chill as can be

Are they laying?
They are of the age to be molting, a good cock will not mate a hen that is not in lay.

I noted that with my young rooster he had no interest in the broody and molting hens.

But as soon as they stopped brooding and then molters feathers came back he was back trying the breed them.

I've read that some will and some will not. That's part of how people decide which rooster is "good" or not. (aart said "a good cock will not...")

Yes, "good" being the operative word.
