I have a sultan rooster that just turned one year old. As long as he has been crowing he has done a three-syllable crow instead of the normal "cock-a-doodle-doo" (his sounds like "cock-a-doooo" for comparison. I realize that some young roosters have a "baby crow" while they are still learning, but he is still doing it at over a year old. Any ideas? I will try to get a video up soon.

He's handsome! I've had a rooster in the past of whom took a year to crow... When he started- he started! But what I mean is yours may not have learned quite right, but there is nothing wrong with him. It will probably straighten out very quickly. Just needs some time.

I've had Roos with different crows, no real problem. Nice in a way because I could identify them. Some sounded similar to yours. I'm not positive, but it seems the less dominant the roo, the shorter the crow. That could be because of dominant Roos rushing then to stop then crowing as they were learning. ;)

I wouldn't worry about it at all.
