It is always a good idea to get familiar with your state poultry pathologist, just in case you would need to get a diagnosis someday. Each state is different, but it can be good to find out how to send in a body with overnight shopping via Fedex or UPS. Some state labs will email a shipping label that makes the process easier. Hopefully, you won’t need them, but whenever their is a sudden unexpected death, I will consider the state vet, or do a simple necropsy myself at home. Certain things can be diagnosed that way.
