Rooster not fertilising anymore, gets on but not complete job

2 years old is not old for a chicken. Some breeds are just reaching full maturity then.

I thought maybe fertility rate could drop off as they age, 2 yrs doesn't seem very old. I have a hen 7 yrs old going strong, currently raising 7 chicks and still lays plenty of eggs (when not brooding) ...Roosters on the other hand might mature more quickly then hens and also slow down earlier (mating) then hens (laying)

Looks like he's getting the job done on 1 of them.. 1 egg looked fertile today...
