So I got 4 chicks about 2 months ago! A Red Star, Black Star, Barred Rock, and Easter Egger! I've recently discovered that my Easter Egger is a rooster. If so I'll have to give my poor baby away!!! She's maybe 4 months old? Maybe a little younger? Not completely sure if she is but not sure what I should do? Should I wait till she/he is older to tell? I'll post some pictures! Comment your opinions. I'm going to see if the guy I got her from will take her back with all of his other chickens. If not, what do you think? I love animals and I want all my chickens to be safe and happy! :) Thanks guys! Hopefully I can find a good home for her nearby! (Georgia!!)

My baby girl (Heritage): About 5-6 weeks old?

Heritage: About 3-4 months old? Not quite sure with age? Any guesses?

Oh ya thanks! Ya I'm just unsure because of her red markings and her comb that's pretty developed! She's also been crowing a little bit which I hear hens do sometimes! She's really sweet to me but she's been bossy to my other chickies!! I have one hen vote and one rooster!

Ok at 4 months old you'd day hen... what about 3 months old? Still hen?

my cockerel ( i have 4 of them) are 4-5 months old and their saddles nor their hackles are showing (now if you part the feathers at the base of the tail you can see their saddles coming in). that is an ee cockerel you can see that there is more than one row of "peas" on its comb plus the patches of red on the wings

That's a little rooster. He may be slower developing, but you just won't see a hen that flashy colored.

Thanks guys any idea what I should do if she is a cockerel? I want her to be safe? I'm going to wait a couple more weeks just to be sure!

i believe hes a rooster.
