It's likely that it's a male Black Sexlink. Sexing by how light or dark the barring is only works for 'purebred' barred birds. I'm pretty sure it's a cockerel with that much red in the comb at only 3 months. He's still just a bit young for really obvious male feathering.I got the eggs from a hybrid hatchery would that make a difference in the colour?
