Rooster or Hen

I'm brand new to chicken keeping and I have a Light Sussex, Not sure what sex it was when purchased around 2 weeks of age,Nearly 17 weeks now. I think it might be a cockerel. Can anyone more knowledgeable than me tell which it is. What age do they usually start crowing if a rooster. Cheers

In the top picture it looks like I can see saddle feathers.... nice long pointed hackles also, thick legs..... I'm leaning toward cockerel

Cockerel. Should start crowing soon. Mine started at 18 weeks.

unfortunately I cannot keep (Poppy) him ,council laws not allowed to keep Rooster.
