and for the longest time didn't know if it were a rooster or pullet...I figured out it is a cochin/silkie mix

so today, I watched my rooster "mate" with HER...they are both 16 weeks...phew, I fell in love with her look, she won't let me
touch her, but I love the way she looks and sounds...

So roosters, don't "jump" other boys do they?!

'Course they can! All animals have gay members and homosexual behavior now and then.
Pigeons, dogs, cats, lizards, even chickens.

At 16 weeks, that's a pullet. Mounting is different than mating and is a common social dominance behavior--so I kept trying to explain to folks at the dog park til I got disgusted and left.

ha...got ya.....this is my 2nd year with chickens, last year I ended up with 9 roos..no pullets, so its all new to me to watch...that makes sense!

Actually that's one argument for "the gay gene," chickens aside... If homosexuality happens among animals, why couldn't it be biological among humans too?

Now, back to the regularly scheduled topic
